Pasar malam = Pa .. sar ma.. lam (it's make up 2 phares) meaning night market similar like flea market.
Its operation usually at night and the cycle is once a week.
Usually this is the place ur can get cheap product . Alas but not any more.Most probably due to inflation.
This is the place ur can guess where the market is heading. When there are lot of people shopping at the night market then ur know that the economy is good when less people ur know that the economy is not that good. Except for 'kueh mueh' or 'char koew teow' which are still cheap other than that its advisable that ur should go to hypermarket for good basketful of product.
