The KLCI rose 6.52 points to 1,186.54 on Wednesday in response to the overnight 420.41 points surge on Dow Jones Industrial Average.
The KLCI jumped as much as 2.3% minutes after the opening bell but trended lower as
the day progressed on persistent selling pressure. Market breadth was negative with losers outnumbering gainers by 431 to 312. Trading sentiment remained cautious as reflected by
the slower trading volume of 0.69b shares worth RM1.51b as
compared with 0.70b shares valued at RM1.48b a day earlier.
